Aqua and Aria, the manga series written by Kozue Amano, has been adapted into a multitude of different animated media. Hal Film Maker produced the first season, Aria the Animation, which was broadcast in autumn 2005 and followed with a second season, Aria the Natural, the following year in spring 2006. In September of 2007 they released an OVA titled Aria the OVA: Arietta which led to the release of the third season, Aria the Origination, in early 2008. For the series' 10th anniversary TYO Animations (a company made from the merging of Hal Film Maker and Yumeta Company) produced an OVA series, Aria the Avvenire, which ran through 2015 & 2016. In spring 2021, J.C.Staff released Aria the Crepuscolo, an animated feature film which celebrated the series' 15th anniversary and announced a sequel film, Aria the Benedizione, which released in winter 2021.
